Instagram is a social networking service made for sharing free photos and videos from a smartphone available on Apple iOS, Android and Windows Phone. Similar to Twitter or Facebook, It was created by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger and launched in October 2010 exclusively on iOS. Facebook, the social networking giant, acquired Instagram in 2012. 

Everyone who creates an account they have a profile and a news feed. It also can be accessed from a computer or laptop.

Anyone 13 and above can create an account by using registering email address and selecting a username.

When you post a free photo or video, It displays on your profile. Your followers can see your posts in own feed. Similarly, you'll see posts from other users whom you choose to follow.

Its basic premise is the sharing of photos, the site’s popularity comes from its photo-editing functionality. This app allows you for the creation of personal profiles. But you can also connect to existing social networking profiles such as Twitter and Facebook, meaning users can share their pictures across the platforms.


Instagram Features:-


Instagram Stories

Instagram Stories allows users to post a selection of pictures/videos into one story. This feature works in much the same way as WhatsApp Stories, with stories disappearing after 24 hours. Instagram Story are not posted to a users profile or on the Newsfeed. Instagram Stories follow the same privacy settings as a user's profile. For example, if a user has a private account and posts a story, only the user's followers will be able to view this story.


Instagram Direct

Instagram Direct allows you to share pictures, videos, profiles, hashtag pages and locations with a single person or small group of people (up to 15 people) right from a users’ newsfeed. You can access Instagram Direct via the Inbox icon in the top right-hand nook of the app. 


Instagram Questions

Instagram story Questions sticker is a feature introduced in July 2018. When you post a Question sticker to your Story and the sticker auto-populate with the phrase Ask me a question (you can give any type tagline about asking questions). After Question sticker posted, followers can respond you. Their responses are listed on a separate screen where you can share responses publicly with your reaction or send a private message.

Advantages & Disadvantages of Instagram


Advantages of Instagram:-


Instagram is all about creative originality. Indeed, Instagram is perhaps among the reasons behind the reappearance in the popularity of photography. The app allows its young users to share their lives in filtered photographs, hashtags or short video clips and has certainly been put to good use by the majority of its users.

You can also promote any posts you've shared, and add a button such as "Learn More" to reach new customers in your target audience.

There are Advantages and disadvantages to having an Instagram business profile, and many people are afraid to switch to a business page because they don’t want their engagement to drop as it has with Facebook pages. 


Personal Instagram Profile Features:-


Business profiles offer a number of advanced features, such as ads and analytics, personal profiles are easier. You get all the ultimate features without any of the extra baggage.


Private Account

Technically, you can set your account to private if you are worried about strangers seeing your posts—but if social media privacy is really important to you then it’s maybe a great idea to stick with a personal profile.


Linking to Multiple Facebook Pages

A second unique feature is that personal profiles have the ability to connect with multiple Facebook pages. While Instagram business profiles can only link to one Facebook profile but with a personal profile, you can link many Facebook pages as you like.

Whereas personal profiles are all about the basic features, Instagram business profile users get accessibility of advanced features, like contact information, Insights, and you can also run ads.

Instagram is now letting all business Instagram accounts with 10,000 or more followers add links to Instagram Story. Before, this feature was only available for verified accounts.


How to create Instagram account


How to create Instagram account?


Create new Instagram account from app:-


Step 1: Download the Instagram app from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android).

Step 2: Once the app is installed, tap to open it.

Step 3: Click Sign Up With Email or Phone Number (Android) or Create New Account (iPhone), then enter your email address or contact number (which will need a confirmation code) and click on Next. You can also tap on login with Facebook to sign up with your Facebook account.

Step 4: If you register with your email or phone number, create a username and password, fill out your profile info and then tap Done. If you register with a Facebook account, you'll be prompted to log into your Facebook account if you're currently logged out.


Create Instagram account on pc:-


Step 1: Go to www.instagram.com

Step 2: Enter your email address, create a username and password or click Login with Facebook.

Step 3: If you register with an email, Tap on Sign up. If you register with a Facebook account, you'll be prompted to log into your Facebook account if you're currently logged out.
